The dates for Ft Tuthill are May 1st and 2nd. Set up Friday April 30 and early Saturday morning May 1st.

First formation is at 0900. By 0900 everyone needs to have arrived, checked in and set up their pup tent and be ready to begin training right after formation.

This will be a 36 hour full immersion event. Once a reenactor enters the compound they will assume the role and not depart until the end of the event.

Required:
Helmet
Mussette bag
M-36 suspenders
Canteen w/cup
mess kit w/utensils
Shelter half or complete shelter if they don't want to share. I will have at least two extra pup tents for use
WWII sleeping Bag or blankets ( Civilian sleeping bag can be used but must remain out of sight when not in use)
Jump boots
Cartridge belt or pistol belt
Rigger pouches (Optional)
M 42's or HBTs (HBT Coveralls are acceptable)
Garrison Cap or HBT cap

All other items are optional. The impression is set for an early war time frame. Pre-deployment to England.

There will be a check in at the reenactor area where each person will complete the paperwork and be issued a meal card.

Meals will be provided via the field kitchen. Guard duty will be rotated through the Units. Pete Martinez will be running the gate.

Current estimated cost is $20 for Historical Forces Members and $35 for non-members. I will send out more information on the Historical Forces membership once I get a copy of the bylaws.

A paypal account will be set up to register and pay in advance.

I would like to make this a major unit push, even if some people can only make it for one day. By putting in a lot of effort and showing that we want to support the museum and the county we will be able to use the property when the facility is closed in the winter.

For my son's impression (medic), I could use some temporary help with the following:

Medic pouches
Cartridge belt or pistol belt
M 42's or HBTs - he is small, maybe a 34-36 coat and 30-32 trousers
Bandages
Steel pot (only if it has the red cross on it - otherwise I have a 501 steel pot for him)

Patrick,
I've got 42s he can use. As for the steel pot. 501st medics didn't paint the red crosses on their helmets so a regular helmet would work. I have a brassard he can use.

Patrick,

I have a steel pot with the 4 red crosses and a bassard. If he really wants the crosses he can use them. He would make a great addition for my Aid Station. Also, Chris has a set of medic pouches. I do believe he is going to be there.

Awesome, thanks all. I will bring my spare 501 steel pot, but if Dave can bring the Red Cross steel pot, it might look good in some of the pictures. Brassards, pouches and other bags are appreciated!

Nic,

I found a pretty decent place to pick up a full set of shelter halves cheap. I posted the link below, but hold off for a few days until I receive the one I ordered - I will let you know if these are close to authentic. From the pictures you cannot tell if they are buttons or snaps, or if it is fully enclosed or front-half open. Hang tight, but if it works, $30 for a full unused shelter (with poles, stakes, ropes) is a good deal, and $19.99 for the used one is even better.

Just got the full pup tent (2 shelter halves) with ropes, stakes and poles from Coleman's Surplus. Tent has the snaps, not the buttons as was correct for early war (and maybe the whole war), and is a bit more OD7 green than OD3 Khaki. However, I think it will work ok, especially considering how seldom we bivouac. I might try dulling the color a bit in the next few weeks, but even without that it should be habitable.

Coleman's has the tents for $20 (used) and $30 (unused). That is a complete tent with all the accessories (entertainment center and Direct TV not included). These are the fully enclosed pup tents, not the ones with the open end to them.
